Privacy policy, in full
01Who we are
Uplift Accredited is an independent digital accessibility recognition program (“we,” “us”). This policy covers www.upliftaccredited.com and the free assessment service. It does not cover any third-party website, including the website of an organization we assess or of our remediation partner.
02What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the program and reach the organizations it serves:
- Assessment requests. The organization name, website URL, your name, email address, and — optionally — industry and organization size that you submit.
- Assessment findings. The accessibility findings we generate by assessing the website you submit. This is data about a website, produced by us, tied to the request.
- Business contact information for outreach. To let organizations know about federal accessibility deadlines and our free assessment service, we also collect publicly available business contact details — organization names, websites, and role-based email addresses — from public registries, government directories, and organizations' own websites. This is business contact information, not personal data you submitted to us.
- Badge renders. When an accredited organization's badge loads, we count the render in aggregate (see section 7).
- Basic server logs. Standard technical records our hosting generates to keep the site secure and available, such as request timing and error information.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information or payment details — there is nothing to pay for.
03How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Run the assessment you requested and deliver your findings report.
- Confirm your email address so we know a request is genuine.
- Contact organizations about federal accessibility deadlines and the assessment service where we believe it's relevant to them. Every such message identifies us honestly and includes a way to opt out, which we honor promptly.
- Review complaints and, when the program launches, administer standings, verification pages, renewals, and revocations.
- Operate, secure, and improve the site.
- Contact you about your request, your report, or (if applicable) your standing.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles.
04Assessment findings and confidentiality
This is a commitment, not a formality: findings about a website that has not earned a standing are confidential to the organization that requested the assessment. Failed assessments, in-progress work, and the reports themselves appear nowhere on this site and in no public directory. Only issued standings are ever published. Requesting an assessment tells the world nothing about your website; only earning a standing does.
05Selling, sharing, and AI training
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used under California law.
We do not use your personal information to train large language models or other AI systems, and we do not provide it to third parties for that purpose. (Some state laws, such as Connecticut's, ask that we state this plainly whether or not we do it — so we state it plainly: we don't.)
06Cookies and tracking
This site is intentionally light. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use only what's necessary for the site to function and stay secure. We do not track you across other websites, and we honor “Do Not Track” signals by not engaging in cross-site tracking in the first place.
07Badge analytics
When an accredited organization displays the Uplift Accredited badge, the badge is served from our systems so it can always reflect current status. We count badge renders in aggregate only — we do not store visitor IP addresses, referrers, or per-request records from badge loads. The count tells us a badge is in use; it tells us nothing about the people who saw it.
08Who we share information with
We keep sharing to a minimum. We disclose information only:
- To service providers that help us operate — for example, website hosting and email delivery — under agreements that limit them to acting on our behalf.
- To our remediation partner, ClearPath Access, only with your involvement. If you ask to be connected for remediation, we facilitate that; we don't hand your details to ClearPath Access on our own initiative. Our relationship with ClearPath Access is disclosed in our standards.
- When required by law — to comply with a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of people or systems.
- In a business transfer — if the Program is ever transferred to a successor, information may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
09How long we keep information
We keep assessment requests and findings for as long as needed to operate the Program and any standing they relate to, and then for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping and legal purposes. If you ask us to delete your information and we have no ongoing need or legal obligation to keep it, we will.
10Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, and to opt out of any sale or sharing (we do neither). To exercise any of these, contact us through the contact page. We will respond within the time your applicable law requires, and we won't treat you differently for exercising a right.
You can opt out of our outreach at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send. We honor opt-outs promptly and suppress them across all future messages.
11Children's privacy
This is a site for organizations, not children. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12Data security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, and we limit access to it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we keep what we collect small on purpose, which is the best protection of all.
13Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Program develops. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14Contact us
Questions about your privacy, or want to exercise a right? Reach us through the contact page, and we'll help.
This policy accurately describes how the site handles data today. It will be reviewed by counsel before the recognition program begins issuing standings, to confirm it reflects the operator's final structure and any additional state-law requirements that apply at launch.
